water softeners are primarily used to remove calcium and magnesium ions from boiler makeup water. If not removed, these ions can be the basis for forming insoluble compounds that will precipitate in boiler systems. A water softener eliminates this problem by replacing precipitate-forming ions with sodium ions.
Aqua enviro engineers are experts at treating and operating these and other types of softening systems. Chemicals required may include burnt lime, hydrated lime, dolomitic lime, caustic soda, calcium chloride, gypsum, alum, ferric sulfate, sodium aluminate, polymers, and ferrous sulfate (copperas). We will work with your team to determine the optimal water softening program to conserve energy, reduce treatment costs, and improve water softening.
Ion exchangers transfer ions from the raw water to solid material so that undesirable ions do not precipitate and form scale on critical heat transfer surfaces. Water softeners use ion exchangers to remove ions like magnesium and silica and replace them with sodium. The ion exchange resins have to be restored on a routine basis to regenerate the capacity once it has been exhausted. This is accomplished by backwashing the accumulated material, brining the resin, and then rinsing the bed. Aqua enviro engineering field engineers have the expertise to optimally treat and maintain your ion exchange systems to save you money in areas like chemicals, water, maintenance, and downtime.
Demineralizers remove the inorganic salts, silts, and minerals found in your feed water. The ultra-pure water that exits the demineralizers results in lower corrosion and fouling rates for your system and may be used in manufacturing systems for various industries – breweries, pharmaceutical, and food & beverage operations. Demineralizers often utilize a series of ion exchange resin columns with both a strong acid cation and a strong base anion. Aqua enviro field engineers have more experience than any other water treatment provider and will customize a treatment program to extend the life of your demineralizers and achieve optimal pre-treatment.
Aqua Enviro Engineering has a full defoamer product line to reduce and eliminate foam in industrial water systems, and can provide a defoaming agent best-suited to optimize your system. We provide defoamer technologies to eliminate foam in boilers, cooling towers, and effluent systems and ensure smooth operating conditions. The most common of these defoaming agents are surface tension reduction and bubble-wall destabilization products. Defoamer products consist of silicone, oil-based, ester-based, water-based, and polymeric constituents.
Aqua enviro engineering chemical treatment programs offer a complete portfolio of emulsion flocculants. Emulsion flocculants are a suspension of minute beads of high molecular weight polymer in water, emulsified in an oil carrier. The minute beads are approximately 1 micron in diameter and contain concentrated polymer dissolved in water. These concentrated polymer beads, or “hydrogels”, are dispersed in a carrier fluid of high flashpoint mineral oil by means of a dispersing surfactant, that keeps the hydrogels from coalescing into larger droplets. Because the hydrogels are of greater density than the carrier oil, they are prone to settle over time, resulting in concentrated polymer solids on the bottom of the container with a layer of oil on the top. This separation can develop faster if the droplets are large, so keeping the droplets small and well dispersed is important in maintaining the product stability.
Aqua enviro engineering field personnel have the most experience in the industry treating industrial reverse osmosis and membrane filtration systems. Our engineers will customize a membrane cleaning program that will eliminate scale-forming constituents from your RO feed water, keeping your system operating at peak efficiency.
Industrial reverse osmosis (RO) systems can treat virtually any feed water if certain feed water quality guidelines are met. Good pre-treatment is necessary to remove the suspended solids, colloidal material, metals, and other contaminants and keep the RO system online and functioning well.
Pressure vessels, charged with various types of filter media, are used to remove suspended solids and other unwanted materials from wastewater. The filter type you need depends on what you want to remove.
Aqua enviro engineering chemical has a new solution for preventing microbiological growth formation on RO membranes using aqueous chlorine dioxide.

Hazardous waste is generated by all sectors of Irish society, from large industry, healthcare to small businesses, households and farms. It is for the most part managed by a professional hazardous waste industry and is treated appropriately and in accordance with legal requirements. Large quantities of hazardous waste are generated, and there is scope to reduce this generation of waste through waste prevention programmes. Around half of Irish hazardous waste is exported for treatment. There are some problems with so-called 'unreported' hazardous waste in Ireland, where small amounts of consumer hazardous waste are produced in households and small businesses and can be inappropriately managed.
